the nerves around the base of the primary feathers are quite sensitive, to help feel minor variations of air currents in flight.

pressing one of these feathers against something isn't exactly a pleasant sensation, but I find myself stuck on it. it keeps repeating in my mind over and over.

maybe it's because it's been so long since I've felt anything from my wings?

I struggle a bit with the concept of ‘therians’ or perhaps 'spiriual therianthropy' in long form. that's different from 'physical therianthropy' which AFAIK is not possible/doesn't exist: it would be 'actually turning into an animal', which does not happen.

I think the reason I struggle with the concept is that for a period of time when I was a teenager, I actually thought I was a therian, only to change my mind and proceed along as what we'd call a 'furry’ or 'furry fan'.

My brain is thus tied up with this, ‘I've been there and realized my feelings didn't point to that, and when I look at other people I think oh they're probably the same way and don't realize it’ thing that feels toxic.

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this? I ought to be treating therianthropy as the same as gender identity, i.e if someone says they're an X they're an X.

Went to the dentist yesterday and they said I have evidence of grinding my teeth. They grabbed a mirror to show mercy how my incisors area showing wear marks on each other. It was really hard to keep from smiling from the #specieseuphoria

I've never been a fan of mint.

Adding mint to chocolate is a great way to ruin chocolate (especially in ice cream).

I tolerate it, but given the choice I'll choose anything sans mint (except a mojito, I can enjoy a good mojito).

Found out recently that mint is effective as a mouse repellent.

Always fun when another aspect of my #therianthropy is validated.

So, random species info dump.

We're called Kthrai. Okay, not exactly that, but I think it's a reasonable translation of [click, medium-flat trill, increasing pitch soft caw]

Kthrai have a blood flow regulating muscle in their neck. While it is not truly a heart, it's name would roughly translate to 'neck heart'. The pulse can be felt strongly in this location.
Close pairs, usually mates but sometimes very close friends, will often lie together with their necks touching at the 'heart'. Sometimes, if both are very comfortable, this will even result in synchronized heartbeats.

Much like mammals, Kthrai give birth to live young, with the females nursing them for several months afterward. (Yes, that does mean under that thick fur I do have nipples. No, you may not milk me.)

Just re-listened to that audio clip, and I've got to redo it. Without the proper pacing and pitch accenting it sounds like a child trying to spell their name on one of those old speak and spell toys. The syllables are there, but it doesn't sound like a proper word.
