My name is Damian Backes and I'm the manager for the Research Area Energy Management & Drivetrains at the Institute for Automotive Engineering (#ika) - #RWTH Aachen University. So my posts will likely be about #mobility, especially #embobilty, #bev and #fcev in general, #powertrain|s and their components, #energy and #thermalManagement as well as #climatisation.

Röchling Automotive and Carrar have partnered to develop and produce innovative battery thermal management systems for electric vehicles. The systems will use phase change materials (PCMs) to store and release heat according to the battery's temperature. The systems will improve the battery's performance, safety and lifespan and reduce the need for active cooling.
