It seems like such an obvious formula for a story: get swept up with a bunch of glamorous, upper class types, get freed from your crappy middle class tedium, get blinded to the horrible things going on, have a dreadful realization, return to middle class tedium. It should have countless imitators, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Every single character in this book is completely unhinged and I love all of them!
I have no idea why I never read this before and even though this book is over 600 pages I don’t feel even slight bit exhausted reading it. The chemistry between all these people is just amazing!
