Pale Blue Eyes - Velvet Underground
"The first Velvet Underground album only sold 10,000 copies, but everyone who bought it formed a band."

Whoops, I forgot to post my #JukeboxFridayNight song. It’s after midnight, but I haven’t slept yet, so that counts, right? The theme is #multilingual songs, #TheSignsTheyAreAChangin.
Solefald spans English, Norwegian, and French in this track.

Last one! This follows on nicely from my last one, as this is a group from Colombia that I've liked for a few years now. This is very much in the sad lyrics to a very bouncy tune category, and is sung in French and Spanish.

I don't normally post two songs so closely together time-wise, but I have literally just heard / watched this for the first time on Youtube, and it's quite cool. I know nothing about the artist, but it appears that they might be from Chile. I love the Andean sound and the indigenous visual references in it, and I'm definitely going to be investigating more later.

And now for something not Belgian - instead we have Danyél Waro, from the island of Réunion, singing in French Creole, and A Filetta from Corsica, singing in Corsican, which is related to Italian.

In which Jimmy tries to teach his director-daughter a bit of le français (and doesn't get too far). The Songs You Don't Know By Heart version of "Chanson pour les petits enfants" (damn, I automatically didn't capitalise that, a le français), b/c in some of the Islands, they parlez-vous...

Jukebox Friday and the theme is bilingual or multilingual songs.
ELO just casually dropped a chorus in French in the middle of this top-ten hit...

After that unscheduled doggy break, it's time for more music, and in fact it's going to be more Belgians. This group, Think of One, went over to the north east of Brazil to learn more about the music there, and made two very fine and fun albums as a result. This song is in Flemish and Brazilian Portuguese, and is about a suit, as far as I can tell.

This one will be a total earworm, or it always is for me anyway. This is the version from The Talented Mr Riply, cos it's my favourite.

Another #JukeboxFridayNight for #TheSignsTheyAreAChangin, and I've got for you all the true king of afrobeat drummers, Tony Allen.
I must confess, I'm not 100% sure what language is being sung here alongside English. I think it's Yoruba, but much apologies if I'm wrong about this.
Anyway, it's a great tune and a great time, for a sunny afternoon.

Jaune Toujours are a Belgian band who sing in Flemish, French, English and sometimes even a bit of Spanish. This offering is mainly in Flemish, with a bit of French.

I'm a wee bit late - real struggle to find multilingual or indigenous-language songs in my orbit that I hadn't shared before. This one's a bit tenuous as it's mostly in English, but it fits the language week as well so why not. (No time to check if it's already been added tonight, I do wish for search sometimes!)
