It is often erroneously titled after its opening refrain, "Starry, Starry Night", a reference to Van Gogh's 1889 painting #TheStarryNight. McLean wrote the lyrics in 1971 after reading a book about the life of Van Gogh. It was released on McLean's 1971 #AmericanPie album; the following year, the song topped the #UKSinglesChart for two weeks, and peaked at No. 12 in the United States.

Le montage est simple, basique, jusqu’à l’assemblage final, où j’ai cassé des assemblages précédents 🤬

Oh ce paquet 3 m’a saoulé un peu.
Les nuances de couleur ne sont pas forcément très marquées, donc erreur de montage, j’ai dû tout reprendre. Mais on avance !

Another reason I’m happy I went out into the pouring rain today: I saw this beautiful umbrella and told the woman how much I liked it. She responded with “it’s a painting” to which I replied, “yes, The Starry Night, I’m a fan!” 🎨🌠🌌

Another Starry Night
Gonna let this water colour impression of Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night dry, and then see if I want to add something else, like the TARDIS that was in my friend's example I have on the wall here.
My friend's example lacks quite some of the details of the original, which also helped me keep mine simple, and to not get lost in all the (lovely) details.
Van Gogh's original is probably one of my all-time favourite paintings, even though Vincent considered it a failure himself. I guess it was to be expected I had to try to do my own version of it, to see what it could look like in a different medium.
Messed up again a couple of times with too much water, and going over parts that hadn't dried enough, so I expect to redo this one further down the road too.
