I like the #movie #TheSting and I enjoyed the first couple #LOTR films. The other night, I named a cocktail invention "The Gandorff". It was yummy.

@MikeJung That is awesome. It sounds like you had the same experience as the screenwriter for #TheSting script. I saw him give a talk once, and he said the blinding flash of the brilliant where he figured out about the FBI agent was the thing that made the movie. You are in great company.

The big con that the characters pulled off netted $500,000 for them, which is about $10,719,784 today. Plenty to go around and to set up grandpa con artist's family for a comfortable life.

It would have taken 2 fucking lines of dialogue.

Boooooooo.

The closing scene ends with a reprise of The Entertainer, giving it a lighthearted feel, but we never saw the con artist make things right with his first partner in the movie---friendly grandpa con artist who was going to get out of the racket, and who left a wife, 2 kids, and a grandchild behind.

For a movie that threw around the N-word with fairly reckless abandon, and which spent a fair amount of time showing grandpa con artist's loving home, this is a major failing.
