@Lullaby @iamgaarden @thestorygraph @bookstodon Yeah, a big part of the reason I settled on for my book tracking is the mobile app. Unfortunately it's a tradeoff at this point, there doesn't seem to be any one site that provides everything. I hope one of them gets there eventually.

@iamgaarden @Lullaby @thestorygraph @bookstodon Perhaps is more the kind of thing you're looking for? It's part of the Fediverse so you might be able to reply to reviews from Mastodon, although TBH I never really managed to get the Fediverse integration to work so I'm not sure.

My impression of is that it seems to focus more on reviews, reading history, and goals, and less on social features.

@gavi @TeaKayB I tried a while ago but I consistently had trouble with it not recognizing books. Maybe I should give it another look.

Personally I've been using and am very happy with it! I mean, it's not perfect but it does what I need to do pretty well, and it's much cleaner than I remember being.

What a fabulous, quick read. I loved everything about this, the world-building, the characters, the dialogue...all-around perfect novella. Highly recommended,

A new favorite of mine from this marvelous historical mystery series. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys feminist characters from the 1920s. So fun!

I finished the version of Alan Cumming's second memoir, BAGGAGE: TALES FROM A FULLY PACKED LIFE.

Oddly, the part that sticks with me the most from this one is when he acknowledges that he's never been an out of work actor. I find that...so odd. Otherwise this was a lovely mix of memoir, mild gossip, and self-reflection. His voice is stunning. I love this dude.

@queenofnewyork This is one thing I think is pretty nice about : it lets readers add topic-specific content warnings to their book reviews, so if you want to know whether a book has sex/violence/swearing/etc, you have a pretty good chance of being able to find out in advance.

Finally managed to update my list of physical books and e-books in

Also done revising (most of) the editions of books migrated from csv list.

It's not much, but it feels good to arrange something. Next will be fixing the tags, haha

Highly, highly recommended. Vulnerable, authentic, funny, dark, optimistic, difficult, and loving - Selma Blair is such a badass. Her stories of her friendship with Carrie Fisher brought me to tears.

@FrostPoem @alexisbushnell I too have been very happy overall with . (no federation, but personally I find the clean interface and good mobile apps make it a good choice for me regardless)

This feels like an accurate portrayal and damning of current day capitalism: going to work is SO BAD a zombie apocalypse is seen as personal freedom. Food for thought.

@nodunayo Hey, I just tried the dark mode on my desktop browser for and it's wonderful! This is going to make editing as a librarian so much better, I think. Great job!

I read *The House in the Cerulean Sea* last year and felt just *meh* about it. Then I read *Under the Whispering Door,* couldn't stop gushing about it, bought *In the Lives of Puppets *as soon as it came out, and now re-read Cerulean Sea. While it's still not my favorite of Klune's (that honor goes to Whispering Door; omg that book!), I revised my opinion. I truly enjoyed this and read it in 2 sittings. Love it when that happens!

Got this from @librofm and just finished it today. I fucking adore Irby's voice, both literally and metaphorically. So funny, grotesque, grumpy, and relatable.

I'm also a and I can't help but wonder, why is there always so much exposition? I don't want to name names and in any case this is something I've observed before in this genre. I want to really enjoy cozies, but the exposition always pulls me out of the action.

@CommonMugwort @bookstodon @ronsboy67 yep, I remember that post. I believe it was the fifth DS Cross book, called "The Monk". I thought it looked interesting so I added the first book in the series to my reading list on
