Watching #TheSwimmers on Netflix. Excellent so far.
It’s based on the book ‘Butterfly’ by #YusraMardini, which had a big impact on me a couple of years ago.
This is the kind of story that, repeated a million times, shows us what really lies behind the #refugee ‘crisis’. Maybe it is a crisis, but not for us.
Read the book or watch the film, maybe even both. Please.

Heart rending portrayal of the reality for refugees.

@bbcworld Yay!!!! Greek charges dropped - one of the sisters from the movie "The Swimmers" faced up to 20 yrs in jail as did her co-workers. This is good news. And I think the movie is still on #Netflix - if you haven't seen it, it's very good. #TheSwimmers

My favorite #Netflix movie of the year was #TheSwimmers, followed by #AllQuietOnTheWesternFront then #glassonion and #WhiteNoise watch them over the weekend.

Only just got round to watching The Swimmers yesterday. Showed the absolute resilience of those seeking refuge. Tough and powerful stuff.
