The Tea Master And The Detective asks the important question, "What if Sherlock Holmes was a Vietnamese woman in space".

It ends kind of abruptly and I feel like we didn't get to see enough of Long Chau's actual deductive reasoning, but it was still a fun read. Having read more recent work by the same author, I can see how she's improved, and I'd love to see another story featuring these same characters now.

Last day of the year but I still managed to start and finish 1 more book! After becoming enamored with the The Red Scholar's Wake by @aliettedb I picked up The Tea Master And The Detective, a novella set in the same universe. Again, I can't recommend it enough! Loved the characters, the writing, and the deeper(!) dive into the deep spaces where faster than light travel happens.
