Well I'm currently working through #ThePaleBeyond on my Steamdeck. It's a survival game where your choices matter and will mean the difference between life and death.

It's loosely based on the events of the Franklin Expedition, and the fictionalised novel of that story called #TheTerror

I'm hoping my knowledge of the real life event and the novel itself will hold me in good stead to maybe make it through this game in one run..

My slightly weird obsession with all things #FranklinsLostExpedition continues, this time with a videogame.

I'm playing a little thing called #ThePaleBeyond. It's 'loosely' based on #TheTerror which is itself a fictionalised story based on the tragic lost expedition.

So far and I'm really digging it. The game is heavy on the reading, and it looks like choices are going to play a massive part of what makes this game move.

Let's see if I can get these people home...

I've just finished #Reading #TheTerror by Dan Simmons. Overall I really enjoyed it, which isn't to say it's not without its problems; namely that I think it's an hour or two longer than it needs to be.

That being said, I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the first season of the show (the show is better imo, but it also tells a slightly different story).

And now I'm a bit sad that I have nothing else to 'enjoy' in this story.

Finished the first read of #Doorstopper2023: The Terror by Dan Simmons. Enjoyed the vibe. Arctic experience enhanced by not having the heating on.

Okay. So this is what I'm about to start #Reading. I watched the BBC/AMC show last year ( #TheTerror ) and for the most part absolutely loved it.

This is the book the show is based on. I've heard mostly good things about it, although many of the complaints of the show remain here (Tuunbaq).

Still, I'm excited to see where this goes.

Just finished #TheTerror, an anthology #tvseries, that bases horror stories on real historic events; season 1 is set in 1845 on the ships of the "Lost Expedition" that tried to find a way from Europe through the Canadian arctic to Asia.

The 2nd season focuses on the Japanese internment camps during WW2. Both seasons are really captivating to watch, while they also encourage you to freshen up on your historic knowledge.
