Until this year, I was (admittedly a bit smug) about having found a solution to keeping the edges of paintings clean while they are painted. (Forget masking tape it's rubbish for the job.). I used liquid latex and it mostly worked, not now for some reason. I've had to go into zen like mode while trying to remove it from several paintings.
