I've just finished the first season of the new Interview with the Vampire series, and while I get the grievances from other fans over the changes, I think viewed as something inspired by, rather than a direct translation of, the original book it holds up quite well.
There are some liberties with the lore that I don't particularly care for (why make the vampires sexual? It could have been a great ace romance), but overall I think it captures the essence while creating something new.
