another #fediverse flashback: in 2007 i was a student volunteer at the international web conference in Banff, Canada (now #theWebConf). that was high noon of web 2.0 and i was about to start my final thesis project. at the internal conference reception—after gathering some courage🍷—i spoke to Tim-Berners Lee about the chances of a decentralized social web: i remember him referring to the FOAF ontology and that the pieces were already present. i guess it still took some time to put them together…
