The world is mostly run by people of my generation. We'll be dead by the time the really catastrophic effects of climate change are felt in the latter half of this century.

So at first sight, maybe that explains why the people running the world are not taking climate change as the existential threat that it is.

But what I find puzzling: don't any of them have children? Or grandchildren? Or do they all hate their kids?
