When I was younger, I was afraid of the trans neighbor in my apartment building, perhaps because of the Silence of the Lambs portrayal of their character Buffalo Bill. I think a lot of pop culture did a lot of disservice to the queer amongst us for much too long and are responsible for a lot of irrationality.
