Someone with more time than me really needs to design and upload some #SFBart train models to #Thingiverse.

I created it in #FreeCAD (https://www.freecad.org/), the tool of my choice for #CAD works, the "source" is attached as well.

I noticed through the years that parametric 3D-modeling for me is like a form of "meditation" as it helps to calm down the mind.

And as a bonus you'd start to see many human-made things differently as soon as you'll get into CAD because you'd start to see all the intricate nuances of design.

Finished making a stand for the #ft857 remote head. You can find the bracket and hinged mount on #thingiverse, they print quickly. I glued the stand on a piece of thin wood that I spray painted with acrylic. #hamradio #shortwave #radio #yaesu

Remixed an STL that I found on #thingiverse and successfully printed it today. I'm starting to get kind of handy at #OnShape although I'm sure I'm doing a lot of things wrong still.

I posted the remix back to thingiverse with full attribution to the original author. My first contribution to the #3dprinting community. I doubt anyone will ever use it but it was fun!

I agree, but one thing to note is, #Marlin is big, and you are big. You have a say and some power behind your voice, but smaller #FOSS developers still suffer.

One thing that disgusts me is 3D printing companies just actually doing this.

In the popular series "Blue Bloods", Frank Regan said that it is so disgusting when a cop commits a crime, because cops should not be kept at the same standard as other people, but at a higher standard.

Now we have companies coming in here. Like #SnapMaker, saying they love #opensource and they want you to create what you want at home and I would put money on it that would attempt a rip-off of #Printables or #Thingiverse in the future for "open-source", but then they do stuff like this.

I honestly didn't know this about them. I was actually interested in buying their #IDEX printer.

I bought an Ender 3 Pro from Microcenter but I don’t know why. I want to do #3dprinting but I don’t know what to do with a #3dprinter, I’m looking at #thingiverse and I see someone printed coat hooks. For a test I could see it, but aren’t they cheaper to just buy?

This catbot is a kitbot for the local makerspace. Modified a thingiverse design to work for this purpose and I'm pretty pleased with the result!
