The Palermo Qur’ān is one of the rarest artefacts surviving from Muslim Sicily. It was copied in Palermo in 372/982-3, ordered by a rich Palermitan adhering to the Mālikī community. In the 15th or before, the manuscript reached Istanbul, where it's still mainly preserved now.
