Monday & the arrival of this quarter’s Vault release courtesy of #ThirdManRecords. So, naturally, I’m #NowSpinning #Fearless by #MilesDavis, a three LP release of his 1970 performance at the Fillmore East.

Now, I’m still new to Miles’ electric phase & disk 1 is A LOT: too much, in fact. However, disks 2 & 3 (starting with Bitches Brew) are sublime.

#TMR have done a good job with this: well presented, immaculate pressing, great SQ.

Folkrock duo opgericht in 2006 te Chichester door Katherine Blamire en Jessica Davies.
Hun grootste invloed is blues muziek uit New Orleans waar ze een jaar verbleven.
Toen ze terug naar de UK verhuisden ontdekken ze Britse volksmuziek en trekken dan voor een jaar naar Vancouver Canada waar ze zich ook onderdompelen in folk.
Al deze invloeden vermengen ze in de band Smoke Fairies, in 2009 zijn ze de eerste niet Amerikaanse release op #ThirdManRecords.

My appreciation for this Third Man Records design comes from how today’s custom labels should be used- as part of the album’s overall theme. The white apple is an obvious play within The White Stripes Get Behind Me Satan album. The font on the listings side of the label continue from its cover and the design continues the red, white and black the band had become known for. Bold goodness. The 3 waves look good spinning and stay in line with Third Man Records’ “3” motif. The use of contrasting colors make the waves stand out even more. Founded by 3 drummers, Jack White (started as a drummer), Ben Blackwell of the excellent Dirtbombs and Ben Swank of the just-as-good Soledad Brothers, Third Man is a love letter to vinyl with its own recording studio, pressing plant, live venue, vault and fulfillment center. #thirdmanrecords #jackwhite #vinylcollection
