I watched #TheAutomat #documentary yesterday and then pleasantly surprised to see one featured as a set in the final episode of #MrsMaisel that I watched last night. Perfect timing. I felt a deep connection with the setting choice that I might have missed otherwise.

Super interesting and highly recommended documentary. I saw the trailer last year when I was developing the syllabus for a course on the #sociology of #ThirdPlaces but I don't think it was released yet.

Last walking lecture for the term yesterday for my course on #Sociology of #ThirdPlaces. It was pouring near freezing rain but I got to share some (sub)cultural history of lost music venues in #Ottawa with my students. Likely to be revived next spring for general public as a #JanesWalk.

In Berlin, I'm coordinating an action in the #urbanagenda to strengthen #publiclibraries, other decentralized #culturalinstitutions and #thirdplaces at the European level. The #ERDF funding for Berlin's cultural sector is my field of work as well. #CultPolEU

In #Berlin, too, they are the cultural and educational institutions with the greatest reach into the society and, fortunately, members of the network of warmth, #NetzwerkderWärme. There is the very need to ensure that #libraries are well funded for their work as #thirdplaces.
