My husband is treating me to a child-free escape as he’s crafting with them at home. I chose to indulge in cake, coffee and Soja’s #Thirdspace - perhaps the most indulgent of the three. So nice to retreat back to this book & re-read the Extraordinary Voyages of Henri #Lefebvre ❤️

The book is incredibly special to me.

It was my first real taste of Lefebvre’s work, which went on to frame the whole philosophical approach of thesis research. It’s defined my career’s approach to space.

Now we’re on our 2nd gen of native internet denizens. Phrases like “touch grass” refer to a past human experience before the internet.

Finished Because Internet: Understanding the New Rules of Language by @gretchenmcc this morning & loved it, esp the "#ThirdSpace" framing. Reminds me of Anthony Pinn's #BlackHumanism work on secular sacred space, using that example of a coffee shop. That connected his discussion of time-space disruption in community, & also resonates with the notion of #AporeticFlow that I take from Monica R Miller (a once protégé who stretches & breaks his work in many ways on her own). #linguistics #bookstodon

Dass inhaltlich identisch diskutiert wird, kann ich mir nicht vorstellen, aber wenn Du damit gleiche Themen mit verschiedenen Nutzer*innen meinst, könnte das passieren. Bleibt spannend. :D
