Hopes for the tool: 1) want community input to make it better 2) separate BECCS pathways from biomass from bio-oil etc. #ThisIsCDR

Public procurement of CDR will probably be more conservative (as compared to voluntary makets). Voluntary markets will probably need to purchase the first 100K tons and more where pathways have more uncertainty #ThisIsCDR

This tool is not a standard. It's the basis for thinking of incorporating uncertainty when measuring tons but doesn't include ecosystem impacts and financial additionality. #ThisIsCDR

Storage uncertainties are accounted for based on the most commonly used storage method for the pathway today. Ranges are used to account for the ranges of storage methods (for example mineralization vs injection into saline aquifers) #ThisIsCDR

Not all pathways will get to VCL 5. But all effective CDR pathways will get to at least VCL 3 or 4 for purchasers to be confident #ThisIsCDR

We also need different ways to support open system pathways. For example, system level responses to address uncertainties in air-sea gas exchange measurements #thisisCDR

It's a problem that CDR is becoming synonymous with DAC, especially in policy circles. We think that "open system pathways" will become a bigger part of CDR in the next decade. The CDR verification framework tries to level the playing field. #thisisCDR

An interesting assessment needs to be done to assess the time dynamics by pathway #ThisIsCDR
