Lashed me
until
I was bent
So far out of shape
So many jagged
edges
I didn’t know myself
Ragged doll parts
Until you
At the fringe
Came in
Ravelling
Threads
With your
Soft words
Gentle hands
Loving nerd
Skin sheds
Mellifluous
Poetry
So slowly
Showed me
I could be
Beloved.
Confess my
Loveliest sins
Whispered wins
Dusky offerings
But it’s the after
That leaves me
Charmed

Now that I am calm
It’s your fingertips
Shaping my heart
