@LauraRice oh also: big fan of @jennitaur and I hope to see her low-frequency, bioregionalism ethic amplified by #thisplace. Mastodon/fediverse in general seems more naturally aligned to that compared to the shouting culture on twitter

in other words: good vibes.

I realize that the nature of the Fediverse is complex and multidimensional, but human beings always simplify complex subjects into shorthand in order to process life. Most of us realize Mastodon is just the software, but we have to call it something, and you know what we mean. Trying to hold back the tide is like Kevin Bacon telling everyone to be calm at the end of Animal House.

Plus Zuck screwed the universe derivative with his Metaverse.

I'm extremely grateful for #Mastodon and the #Fediverse.

The corruption and collapse of Twitter has been very scary and destabilising for me. I spent 12+ years building up a platform and a network that I rely on very heavily (too much!) for so many things. My fear and sadness has been really softened by having #ThisPlace as a sanctuary and a real source of hope.

I'm so grateful for everyone who has helped to build and maintain it!
