Thirty minutes in and this movie is way weirder than I expected: fantastical creatures, ginormous Idris Elba, people sitting around getting to know each other...

I have no idea if this is going to end up being good or not, but it's been on my watchlist since before it came out, so we are about to see what happens.

Tonight I watched #ThreeThousandYearsOfLonging
Beautiful story-telling.
I mean, anything with Tilda Swinton in it is going to be fabulous by default. I swear that woman's a chameleon!
And, Idris Elba is perfection as the djinn.

#ThreeThousandYearsOfLonging (2022) is a lovely #movie, and one I had absolutely no preconceptions about, going in. (I’d’ve preferred to have watched it without having read the blurb first, but the very minor spoilers in that paragraph are revealed pretty early on). #IdrisElba and #TildaSwinton star in a gorgeous and gentle sorta-kinda fairy story. Recommended 👍👍👍 #minireview

Just watched Three Thousand Years of Longing, starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba, written and directed by George Miller. I’m not saying anything about the premise but it’s an excellent date movie, the writing and acting are both fantastic, and the cinematography is transcendent.
