In a rut and I have not done any sewing in a few weeks. The half finished summer items for my daughter will now be completed for next yr. I haven't even started on the Christmas gifts that were my "job" for the first August bank holiday.

Fact: I find it hard to pass a Thrift Shop without going in to look for patterns and assorted fabrics. I think this might be the problem. 😉 I get overly ambitious and so I have a myriad of piles and areas in my sewing space. One for patterns, one for fabric, ALOT of fabric, one for notions etc. Then there are containers of pins, zippers, needles, scissors.

So now I am overwhelmed. I physically and emotionally cannot sew in this space. I feel immobilized by my beloved "mess". And so I have decided to take a few days break from any book reading or #kdrama watching and sort this mess out.

I am going to have to be brutal and bag up the patterns and fabrics that I bought on a whim, wowed by my own brilliance at envisioning that a particular vintage tablecloth would make a great top. 😁 Like a closet overhaul, if I haven't used it , touched it or even thought about it in a long time then I am going to send the to the Eco sewing shop here in Ottawa. Somebody else will love it like I did once upon a time.

I already have some clear plastic boxes, tins and containers for storage. Wish me luck.

I'm trying to rally to hit more #thrift shops this evening to complete or otherwise perfect my #puppet before I put him in front of a camera tomorrow.

Before that, however, I needed to eat, so I wolfed down some grape tomatoes that fell on the floor at the supermarket checkout (w/o an offer to replace), some veggie nuggies (that my microwave never fully cooks) and some SOLID BLACK Spicy Pineapple Jalapeno Doritos. I admire the ethos behind them and I'm a Hawaiian pizza fan, but they're GROSS.

Although I was mistaken that #nationalthriftshopday was Saturday, it WAS yesterday. I very nearly missed out on it completely, but omw home from the gym I hit one shop for a 1 yo's jacket for a #Muppet Whatsit I found in a Philly #thrift shop years ago, & several small toys from street vendors, for a combined #tithe of $15.

This was likely for the best, b/c #thriftfu #litotimancy sent me ALL THIS in the previous couple weeks. (I'm afraid I can't tally them up right this moment: I'm at work.)

Late in the day to say so, I know, but today is one of the most holy days of my year: #nationalthriftshopday! I've just plotted out a course south of me to hit a bunch of stoop sales and eventually make it to some chewy nuggets of #thrift shops. #thriftfu #litotimancy awaits the frugally bold!

Get a glimpse into my creative process for working on a blog post. Visually, I generate a number of Midjourney images that help evoke the theme of the piece. I use of course images I have taken as well, and some licensed imagery from my Canva subscription.

Separately I will write an outline and then the post - but with some Bing or Katteb assist for designing the outline and improving for SEO.
