Unser Homebrew Setting ist eine Insel (Avalon). Ich träume von einem Kampagne auf einem Schiff das die Küsten abfährt und so von einem Abenteuer in das nächste Abenteuer gerät.
System ist eher zweitrangig, aber ich denke da derzeit an das #ShadowdarkRPG oder #ThroughSunkenLands.

Also a good time. Our group enjoys both.

We saw the writing on the wall after the last session, we were outclassed and in a bad spot with no realistic escape but played it out anyway. We each had our own strategies for survival, but our first party in #ThroughSunkenLands is no longer.

We rolled 4d6, keep high this time and went about building our second characters for flavor using the playbooks as guides rather than pure generation tools. Looking forward to more exploration with my new character this weekend!

@bwebster My group is currently playing a #ThroughSunkenLands game in a homebrew setting, and it's got a more Robert E. Howard vibe than the LeGuin vibe of #beyondthewall but the two systems are wholly compatible. We haven't done any mass combat from TSL though, and don't invoke the Law/Chaos dynamics. We just wanted the expanded playbooks in an exotic setting different than our earlier BTW game.

@zorbtrauts @SymbolicCity @OtherJustin You never end up holding the wealth you accumulated. Spend or NO XP, so an aesthetic could donate to their cause and take a vow of poverty.

#throughsunkenlands doesn't have a explicit playbook for generating dedicated monk backgrounds, but I get your point.

@zorbtrauts @SymbolicCity In the #throughsunkenlands game @OtherJustin runs, carousing in town is how we level, and we MUST spend our wealth to carouse, and the carousing roll determines how much of a complication dropping all that wealth can cause. I was skeptical but I really like a broke adventurer looking for their next big score as the dynamic that binds the group together now.

@GelatinousRube I'm playing in a #beyondthewall / #throughsunkenlands game in a homebrew setting now. We've been playing off and on weekly for large chunk of the pandemic over Discord.

The BTW character creation playbooks and threat books are the biggest strengths of the system. It makes a fleshed-out character and towns with connections to other players MUCH easier to create.
