Today was Yelm's 1st #Pride Festival but it was difficult to ignore Law Enforcement from (4) different agencies (#Nisqually, #YelmWA, #ThurstonCounty, #WSP) and the permanent, embedded MAGA presence throughout the event.

As if that wasn't bad enough the #ProudBoys also showed up later in the afternoon, with an associated person approaching us about taking photos.

Facinating week in the pre-filing seat arranging in local #thurstoncounty politics.

First, we recently expanded our county commission from 3 to 5, opening up two new seats. One is split a suburban district, the other (one we'll focus on today) is rural. But the districts will only vote for their rep during the primary, each seat is countywide during the general. Which makes it pretty likely a more liberal candidate will rep a rural district, as long as they make it through the primary

Airlifted Sheriff released within hours after arriving at Harborview.

An unscathed yet allegedly previously unconscious Derek Sanders hit a trailer late yesterday afternoon 7 miles south of #Yelm, WA.

Speculative reports went from Derek heading to an Intensive Care Unit as "serious or critical", then upgraded to satisfactory, then released.

After hitting a trailer being pulled by a small truck, it seemed the whole town came out in a panic with tots and taters.

Last night Derek posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed where it appeared he wasn't attached to anything, and quite literally didn't appear to have a scratch on him.

Thurston County Sheriff's are diligently working to blame the victim's trailer for being impaired.

One of the interesting aspects of the pursuit debate in #waleg is the observation that police pursuits are often not necessary.

This guy is a nonsensical political troll in #thurstoncounty. But I'll share his post just to give you the joy of seeing the facts change after he posts at 730p last night, complaining that the lack of pursuit just let the criminals get away.

Just over an hour later, they had caught up with both suspects.

After electing a new leader, the Thurston County Sheriff's Office is removing the thin blue line from their vehicles.

In what could be assumed as an endorsement, Sanders interactions with the privately ran page leaves questions about transparency.

Are Thurston County residents expected to follow this FB page for official information?

Residents not following may be excluded from official details or posts about incidents in Thurston County.

No similar posts or details on Sanders own page or Thurston County Sheriffs could be found.

As seen in several instances:

- Sanders disputing and responding to a post where the comment "has been deleted"

- Sanders disputing and responding to another commenters claims.

- Sanders ironically having a scuffle with a blue-liner, then boasting about how many Thurston Co. Scanner, News, & Weather Blog followers "found this information helpful to know."

What other posts or interactions may Sanders have with this page, and who's keeping track?

Privately ran #Facebook pages are not required to adhere to the same policies as official social media pages.
