Once popular cinemas are now out of business. I attended a lot of movies at these two during the 90's. Blackhawk (Century) was one of the first Bay Area theatres to be THX certified in all their auditoriums. By the late 90’s they had lost their THX certification. I never got tired of seeing their THX trailer of The Simpsons grandpa saying "turn it up!"
