I asked ChatGPT to tell me about Thylacocephalans as a little test. I learned something new: it told me that their common name is "sabre-headed" or "sabre-toothed" lobsters. I have never heard this common name before, nor could I find a reference to it on the interwebs. A confident fabrication!

On the 8th day of #Crustmas (and #thylacocephalanthursday) my true love gave to me Paradollocaris vannieri Charbonnier in Charboniier et al 2017. This bivalved crustacean is from the middle of the Cretaceous, and was found in the Cretaceous Plattenkalk Lagerstätte in Lebanon.
