HK’s apparent doctrine on mourning:
“…in accordance with the law…”
Leaving little space for seemingly any form of dissent, or freedom of expression.

A *pro-#Beijing carnival*? The #CCP's attempt to brainwash its underlings and make them forget about the #TiananmenMassacre not only in #China but also in #HongKong are reaching new levels of infamy.
To hell with this ghoulish regime, the Chinese deserve better than that.

According to the #BBC's John Simpson,
"On this day in 1989 I grabbed the video cassette containing all the famous pictures of the #Tiananmen massacre inc the tank man & walked down to the #Beijing Hotel lobby. A cop came over to arrest me but a burst of fire outside distracted him & I slipped past. We got the pictures out via Hong Kong."
The result was this moment in time. #TiananmenSquare was the scene of the biggest pro-democracy protest in #China since the late 40's.

@MarkAsser Quoted from John Simpson, former International Editor at BBC (when that actually meant something)
"34 years ago in Beijing I saw the Tiananmen massacre unfold, from the first approach of the Chinese army APCs to the tank-defying man with the shopping bags. Each year bots and stooges say it didn’t happen. It did. I watched 40 people die in front of me."

Today's a good day to remember the Tiananmen Square protests and massacre of 4 June 1989.
These photos serve as a reminder that sometimes you need to be fed-up with your government, and brave like Tank Man, also known as the Unknown Protester or Unknown Rebel. This unidentified Chinese man stood in front of a column of Type 59 tanks leaving Tiananmen Square in Beijing on June 5, 1989.
#May35 today I learned about this reference for the discreet commemoration of 1989 event in China, and perhaps now also used to solicit the protection of democratic values…

Today in Labor History April 15, 1989: The Tiananmen Square protests began in China on this day. The demonstrations started in response to the death of a reformist leader, Hu Yaobang. At the height of the protests, over 1 million people occupied the square. On June 4, the Chinese government declared martial law and sent in the military to ..

Today marks the anniversary where China was honest with their public, about the hoax that democracy utimately is for everyone in the world. We have had countless examples of police chief serial rapists and cops systematically suffocating people they don't like in the streets, but China's display was arguably the most grandious and simultaneous. They really wanted to explain democracy and truth to the world.
