Talking to my dentist this morning about #TicketToRide and he keeps getting beaten by his son who ignores the destination routes and just buys as many tracks as possible. I don't have any idea about counter strategies, does anyone else?

We revisited the Netherlands map for #TicketToRide and I think that the generally shorter routes and the idea that in 2p you cannot be blocked (you just have to pay your opponent for the privilege) made it MUCH more enjoyable.

I still lost by a nice chunk, but I think the puzzles in this map are more up my alley.

We've gotten some great games to the table in the past few weeks with #Claim, #BloodOfAnEnglishman and #Raptor being at my personal top for 2p (only).

Also, I realized that taking train cards in #TicketToRide multiple turns in a row feels like "Skip-a-turn... skip-a-turn... skip a turn.

Finally, #Eleven futbol management Euro solitaire is so far a deep, intriguing experience. I'm also learning it from Italian rules so that makes it feel like #AdvancedSquadLeader.

Tijd geleden dat ik het speelde, maar je pakt het vijf minuten op en je weet alweer waarom #TickettoRide een moderne klassieker is. Wat een geweldig bordspel is dat toch.

Als toetje vandaag #JustOne, een hilarisch coöperatief spel waarin je teamgenoten hints moeten geven zodat jij een woord kan raden. Maar dubbele hints worden weggestreept… :-)

While the final session of our #ArkhamHorrorTheCardGame campaign (The Dunwich Legacy) keeps getting delayed due to illness, and we already have an expansion waiting for #TheElderSign, I suddenly felt like we could use a physical copy of #TicketToRide a while back and ordered that from our local game store.

Specifically TTR Europe and the Japan + Italy expansion.

Immediately afterwards, #Nemesis started tempting me, but it'll have to wait a few months there.

This morning's litterpicking find was a Lithuanian receipt up a hill in the Welsh Borders. A return train ticket from Vilnius to Trakai. What story shall we tell to explain it? A globetrotting Russian spy keeping tabs on Ukrainian refugees? A USian tourist on a speedrun through Europe? A twinning committee?
