My Tictocky has been a lot of retold Reddit “Am I The Assh*le” stories for me lately and I need to stop. The stories, and they do read like stories, ie fiction, have been interesting. Updated folktales of the smarter powerless person getting one over on those in power. I need to stop cause my feed is now multiple accounts telling the exact same popular stories.

Over on the tictocs an aging filter once again became super popular and like the last time this happened the young wyt gays freaked out at the prospect of well, being my age or a little younger. Proclaiming they’d rather be dead or promising a life of plastic surgery before they got so gross looking.

Back in the 90’s when i was In my early 20’s I worked retail and a coworker friend told me about how whenever he needed extra money when he was 18-20ish he’d go to a certain bar in east Pasadena that moneyed upper class women of a certain age and young men without money would frequent to meet each other. A memory certainly unrelated to the tictoc vid mentioned in the previous post.

Saw a thing on tictoc talking about the perfect bar to get yourself a sugar daddy and I wasn’t sure if it was a joke or real and wondered why the bar looked so boring, then realized it was a straight bar and the target audience for the video was not twinks but rather young women. Still not sure it was real or a joke about the average age of the bar.

The US Government missed an opportunity to talk about an open and accessible internet during the #TicToc debate.

Make it about US and western platforms not being able to access the Chinese market, but the Chinese platforms being to access the Western ones.

Market access, market power, data collection, monetisation, etc. So many opportunities to push reform and transparency in these spaces and instead all the oxygen is sucked out of the room being fixated on a single company.

Maybe it will take the NEXT generation of legislators to get it.

Montana becomes first state to ban TikTok

I can’t stand Tic Toc. I tried it and all it kept showing me was obnoxious, superficial trash. Stressful, and I felt like my mind was getting polluted.
