Playing around with #TiddlyWiki geospatial plugin in context of Liverpool & Manchester Railway.
geojson.io good for featurecollection-level code although not all aspects supported by plugin as yet, e.g. fill colour.
Again, a featurecollection of markers for stations although captions not working as expected, possibly due to my not using an empty wiki as starting point nor entering them as tiddlers.
Also polyline for route and finally a combo of all three. Nice.
Bon. Tout ce qui faisait l'intérêt de #Tiddlywiki semble mort.
Mis à part la possibilité d'enregistrer en local (avec l'extension qui va bien), il n'a plus rien de portable. On ne peut plus enregistrer sur clé USB. 😞
Existe t-il des équivalents ?
...uhhhh, can anyone edit my #tiddles in #tiddlywiki? isn't that a vector for abuse...?

I wish I could find a straightforward #selfhost alternative that didn't require 30 wodges of #Docker #bloatware and more free time than it takes to earn a doctorate from Carnegie-Mellon.
I'm using #TiddlyWiki with #WebDAV, plus the venerable old #Webnote for lightweight things, and I'm probably going to have to settle for that because I agreed to cook dinner at least four nights a week.

@rickwysocki Thanks - this is a really interesting article. That inspirational article of Ted Nelson was new to me, and you draw some thought-provoking parallels to #Zettelkasten.
What do you think about adding #Tiddlywiki to your “tools” section? In my experience it fits exactly.
@flumen_calculi #tiddlywiki hat eine "Journal" Funktion. Das gesamte programm incl Inhalt ist eine html Datei.
@CommanderViral nowadays, I just see if whatever use-case can be accomplished somehow in #TiddlyWiki. An actual multi-column layout may be non-trivial, though.
@boris Looking at #logseq, I can't help but wonder why people think #tiddlywiki is complicated. In one minute of play, I've managed to break LS with nothing more than text formatting. And what are those ugly reference numbers? Why do I need to see those? And in the embedded video, we learn that the killer app for LS is ... Obsidian. Which then links via a plugin to Readwise. Kind of a technological house of cards.
There was a question about Obsidian Publish competitors to which I answered with all my custom GitHub Workflows https://cosocial.ca/@boris/110679444492531479
There are a handful of SaaS products out there but personally my forever notes are too important not to use standards and open formats.
TiddlyHost https://tiddlyhost.com/ would be the fastest way to get something up and running…except you’ll need to learn and customize #TiddlyWiki which is going to be too high of a bar for most people.
@liaizon ooo it’s time for an obligatory #TiddlyWiki plug … I like knowing that the data is mine, the data is local, and the data is endlessly configurable
TiddlyWiki v5.3.0 has just been released with many new features: parameterised transclusion, user defined functions and widgets, new text substitution attribute syntax and HTTP requests from wiki text. Find out more at https://tiddlywiki.com/#Releases #TiddlyWiki
Hi @Jermolene
Given the wiki-ness of #TiddlyWiki, is it a stretch to think of a #FederatedWiki of Tiddlywikis? Taking the liberty of CC'ing @k9ox 😀
@fuchsiii @kkarhan @james @nextcloud tiddlywiki has support to save itself to the "server" via WebDAV, Github, Gitlab, Dropbox, Nextcloud. It is shocking how #TiddlyWiki obsoletes multiple apps (like #Wiki, and bookmark managers), #OfflineFirst but also saves to server.

updated the digital garden 🌱 to include a recent #TiddlyWiki workshop given at https://offline.place #hackerspace in #Berlin with @liaizon
if you are interested in learning more about @TiddlyWiki you can follow along using the tutorial wiki I built for the workshop
