The #Miami #TigerBeetle lives in the #PineRocklands of very urbanized #SouthFlorida in #MiamiDadeCounty, while the bracted twistflower is found in #UvaldeCounty, #BexarCounty, #MedinaCounty, and #TravisCounty in #Texas, roughly coinciding with the #I35Corridor.

Super impressed by the very radical and smart design of #TigerBeetle, a distributed database for financial accounting:

- LMAX inspired
- Written in #ziglang
- Static memory allocation
- Zero copy with Direct I/O
- Zero syscalls with io_uring
- Zero deserialization
- Storage fault tolerance
- Viewstamped Replication consensus protocol
- Flexible Quorums
- Deterministic simulation like FoundationDB
- And many other amazing decisions!

Very impressed by this fantastic README describing a $20k challenge consisting in breaking #TigerBeetle's consensus protocol:

TigerBeetle is a distributed #database specialized for financial accounting, designed for mission critical safety and performance, and developed in #ziglang.

One interesting fact is that TigerBeetle allocates no memory after startup, thus avoiding complexities of memory management in C++/Rust or having to rely on a GC:
