Rides to appointments or shopping offered, sharpening of my hand lawn trimmers accepted. Not as a one on one exchange but the result of lots of offers and lots of accepts, and a simple spreadsheet to keep track. Because people feel better if we keep track.
I think this is a reasonable and functional system for many of our needs.

After several years of delays for #covid and caring responsibilities, my #ChurchillTravelFellowship is unexpectedly back on. Coming to #USA in October to visit various #Timebank schemes on #EastCoast and #NewEngland and maybe #Canada particularly interested in how they help in #rural areas with #CommunityResilience and keeping older people active in vommunities. Sadly with #ClimateChange and #ExtremeWeather events think #Timebanks may prove remarkably useful for that sort of thing. Would love to connect with people doing things like #RepairCafe #foodwaste #CommunityComposting or other #SharingEconomy type things while I'm out there.

I shopped yesterday. My local supermarket is out of stock of regular items like vegan pies. Staff say supply chains have been broken since #CycloneGabrielle and rod damage. Disruption to ordinary lives from #ExtremeWeather is likely to be an ongoing issue.

Good to see growth of #UrbanFarms #allotments in Aotearoa New Zealand. Hope this flows into #CircularEconomy and community sharing. Some people could offer skills in exchange for food or just give and hope for gifts too, Like #TimeBank

Any #Timebank #Timebanking folk on here? Amongst many other things that I do.. I have a travel fellowship to explore benefits of rural timebanking, especially to support older people to stay connected to their community. Travel plans have been delayed by family illness and covid but I need to complete my travels and report by June 2024. Would love to connect with any #Timebanks on here especially #rural ones.. for the US folk..I know Chris Gray and speaking to her next week
