My RSS usage and stuff
1. I use #TinyTinyRSS a lot
2. I have also #Wallabag
3. And I also use #Firefox Sync for bookmarks storage
4. I also use Mastodon as the source for stuff to read
Maybe too much tools

I’m now also trying #tinytinyrss. While I like the possibility to configure a more feed-like ui, the whole set of applications that tinytinyRSS is are notable more clunky.

I'v been using #TinyTinyRSS from Nixnet for a long time. I realized that the automatic installer of my hosting has #TTRSS available. Also #Wallabag, although when installing this one it tells me that it could only be installed in the root directory. I've also installed #LimeSurvey.
My host is Hostinger and they have all this software available:
#tinytinyrss #ttrss #wallabag #limesurvey

The two I plan to swap out are #gitea for #forgejo and #tinytinyrss for #freshrss.
What #rss reader are you using, Fedi?
#gitea #forgejo #tinytinyrss #freshrss #rss
Ok so #TinyTinyRss is crashing with
Exception while updating feed 113: SQLSTATE[22007]: Invalid datetime format: 1366 Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9F\x98\x8A \x0A...' for column `ttrss`.`ttrss_enclosures`.`title` at row 1 (/var/www/ttrss/classes/rssutils.php:1205)
What the fuck with datetime in title ...
and the string value is "😊 "
Is it a php issue or ttrss issue ... php8.0 by the way
.@nextcloud News is is much better than #TinyTinyRSS ever was. Way better Android app, easier to setup and less errors.
by the way, TIL you can create word filters in #TinyTinyRSS that apply to certain feeds only

anyone have a good solution for #RSS in #emacs that can be syncronized across different computers?
i'm trying to move away from elfeed - tired of marking the same entries 'read' over and over again.
currently considering something like #TinyTinyRSS over #tor or #i2p. would love something low tech/static that can be used in conjunction with #syncthing
#rss #emacs #tinytinyrss #tor #i2p #syncthing
Do you know you can use #TinyTinyRss as a Youtube interface 😅 👌
3 clicks install with #Yunohost
@pls @rcarmo It's proprietary though...
I used InoReader for a while, it also has features like generating #RSS feeds by parsing websites and fetching the full content, even bypassing many paywalls.
But I've since migrated to a self-hosted #TinyTinyRSS and #rssbridge, and I like that setup much more tbh. I've even contributed a few bridges myself and made a plugin for #elfeed integration (which was the primary motive).
#rss #tinytinyrss #rssbridge #elfeed
As we talk a lot about #RSS these last days (and rightly so), the local aggregator #Liferea reminds us with its version 1.14, its numerous patches and its ability to synchronize with several online services including #TinyTinyRSS ! 🤩

@plars I self-host a #TinyTinyRSS instance. It was actually my first foray into RSS, but I love it.
Then we replaced the overflowing and sluggy-slow RSS-akkregator/Reader with https://tt-rss.org/
#rss #tinytinyRSS - a recommendation from one of our customers – awesomely fast, even with hundreds of feeds and thousands of messages. Lots of featuress, no need to touch the backend every once in a while. Simply works.

Finding myself in a bit of a pickle. I've been running #TinyTinyRSS for years, and even since the LinuxServer container for it was discontinued. (Yes, bad practice, I know, shut up.) I finally started looking into the possibility of migrating to the official container and... woof.
First big problem is that when I set it up it had an external database requirement. I used MySQL because I already had a container for it to power WordPress sites. The official image is using PostgreSQL bundled into it. This is a good and sane thing because 1) external dependencies for #Docker containers kind of defeats the purpose and 2) PostgreSQL is WAY better.
There's a migration tool to move your data from one RDBMS to the other. But... it also prohibits you from running it as root! The container I'm currently using seems to only have a root user, at least as far as I can tell. I'm going to take another stab at it later, but this might be the thing that keeps me from doing a data export.
So now I find myself wondering which is the way forward. Do I dump all my saved articles and data, starting fresh with just my RSS subscriptions? Do I switch to another less onerous platform? Do I go through the pain of migration? It feels like the Google Reader problem that caused it all in the first place. #SelfHosting
