I watch #TNS #KOFXV basically every week. Now in catching up on a local Oceania tournament and, as much as it pains me to say, the difference in quite glaring. So many people dying full of meter over and over

I’m generating 52 news stories for my sector, and it’s been good at forcing me to develop individual planets. I will barely scratch the total number of planets, but I’ll at least have a little better idea of what’s out there, and a sample from each faction.

To generate ideas I’ve been using the “event theme” chart in Black Sword Hack (The Dark Gods' Oracle, page 98) and the TNS generator on Freelance Traveller. Could use another news Oracle.

Contestants in the race were required to collect encrypted data chips from offices on Glisten, Mora, Luniun, Rhylanor, Lanth, Regina, and Frenzie. Returning the set to Trin in the shortest time. Several nobles entered the race in person, as did teams from the Imperial Navy, Scout Service, and strangely, the Army, competing against sponsored vessels, Representing corporate and planetary interests.

But now I can see it takes 70 days for news of the Fifth Frontier War to reach the Foreven sector.
But it takes 98 days to reach a non-Zhodani world.
It takes 105 days to reach an non-aligned world.

I may be just a little crazy.

Prototyping my Traveller News Service distribution utility. Very barebones so far.

Need to add:

Static trade routes (connections that will span larger distances).
Store message history in database.
Chance for distribution to off route worlds.
Neighboring sectors.

But pretty good for a couple hours hacking.
