Cor blimey trousers are trousers which are fit only for wearing whilst carrying out particularly grubby jobs - such as gardening, sweeping the chimney or emptying dustbins.

Upon seeing an unusually disreputable pair of trousers being worn in public, one might well say “Cor blimey!”.

These days dustmen are issued with protective high visibility clothing.
