Started a classic Amiga port of the #Tokamak card game. [0]

Spent most of the day drawing placeholder sprites, with a diversion into "pixel art rotation using 3 shears" [1] algorithm (spoiler alert: still needs hand-editing to look good, so I gave up).

Spent the later afternoon fixing up the libtokamak implementation to (optionally) work without clock_gettime() (used for AI deadline timeout, partial fix requires threading to set a stop flag, will swap it to call a user-defined polling function instead to subsume the hardcoded temporality) and without OpenMP (used in some of the AI player algorithms).

The library, which contains the core game logic, now compiles successfully wtih amiga-gcc. The object file is about 64kB, compiled with -O3. I'll switch to -Os at some point probably.

Next comes the big job, porting the ncurses front-end to AmigaOS 1.3 (basically a rewrite, as it'll be graphical with mouse control instead of text with keyboard control).

WEST restarts to test physics of #ITER divertor

WEST is a unique #tokamak in Europe. It has actively cooled #Tungsten components and superconducting magnets, to investigate long-term effects of this environment for long #fusion experiments.

Following the plasma restart in the WEST #tokamak on the 15th of December, we obtained this week the first X-point plasmas and thus the first exposure of the new ITER-like Tungsten divertor in WEST.

From the first attempt, the divertor behaved perfectly and the #plasma could be controlled throughout the entire 10 s long discharge. After many events, phase 2 of WEST is now launched.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all teams on this successful result.
