I have to admit, I picked today’s #ramen based on the cool #design of the package, and even the oil #flavour packet didn’t disappoint.

All this week I’ve been sampling various interesting #ramen. What I’ve learned is there’s a lot more choices than just chicken, beef or shrimp. Like today’s ramen which is creamy #TomYum, it tasted great and wasn’t too spicy either.

#cooking i made essentially #tomyum #hotpot tonight. tom yum paste; lemongrass, galangal, garlic, tofu, jackfruit, and shiritaki, and fish sauce. trying to keep things light so as to indulge a bit this weekend.

modifications i'd make now that this was round #2 of #hotpot - 1.return to #uwajimaya for the thinly sliced lean meats (low $, high reward), 2) only use 1 pack of #meatballs (prefer chicken shroom), 3) def prefer #enoki to the shrooms tonight 4) definitely angel hair #shiritaki rather than hand pulled noods, 5) go with the szechuan base we got from #fubon, 6) the spouse prefers the choi tonight rather than the other night (they're larger), and 7) add tofu.
next batch will be a #tomyum #hotpot

re: cooking the other night, since #hotpot restaurants in #portland have closed, i made hotpot at home. tonight i've made some #thai green #curry #eggplant with shiritaki noodles. and i've got some #shrimp thawing because i'm going to also make some #tomyum soup in a short bit.
