Strange thing happened tonight. Updated one #fedora #silverblue VM, that I had not started in about 1 month. Also updated the toolboxes with dnf update.

After reboot to apply the system update, none of the #toolbox would start. Hopefully, it was easy to recreate them, but that’s still strange, and lower my confidence on using them 😧

Since i moved to #silverblue in January 2023, I have been using #fedora without any base image mutations. I have found that #toolbox and #podman have been very helpful. I am not missing anything and i really dont think about the updates anymore and will they break anything at all.

I was thinking, how viable would it be to create a toolbox-export package that would be optional, maybe even independent of #Toolbox , so that it's easy to run apps installed in toolbox containers.

Would be very handy for #fedora #silverblue if toolbox can be extended this way.

Did a 13-year-old write this? This is clearly written by someone who had never used a #toolbox or a #paint brush. A toolbox is analogous to storage, and a paint brush is analagous to a keyboard, and neither is analogous to a typeface in a #creative activity.

I successfully broke my #Fedora #Silverblue station.

How ? I was on the official docs to remember how to add a system package with rpm-ostree and saw in the useful example; " #libvirt ".

I didn't think it through and installed it with #evolution-ews.

In the end, I'm still unable to sync with an ms exchange server AND most of my #pods and all #toolbox containers are now unusable... they don't start anymore and complain about a setting out of my reach (readonly fs).

So... yeah. I did it.

And a second Silly Duffer moment for today:

as part of an ongoing project to have crushed green velvet-lined nests for tools, another drawer is nearly done.
After the usual too much time spent trying to tuck and clamp the material around the edges and underneath whilst gluing, I finally 🤦‍♂️ realised that the drawer it's fitting into makes a perfect clamp. All I need to do is flip the insert over, and push it in. A couple of layers of cloth makes the fit extra snug.
Thankfully it's only taken me 3 out of 10 drawers to realise this 😡
