resilience - It’s time for tool libraries to go global

I’ve often thought that a #ToolLibrary would be a great resource for our town. Need a plane/hacksaw/drill for an afternoon? Borrow one.

Interestingly, one thing this article doesn’t mention is #insurance, which I speculate would be a major deterrent for getting this sort of #green initiative off the ground. Being sued because someone (purportedly) gets injured by a borrowed tool would be no fun.

@JosephDubonnet We have a #ToolLibrary in #VictoriaBC & it's amazing! Every community should have one. Ours is mostly run by volunteers & donations from public & members. Community members can borrow tools, after registering as a member & you get discounts on a wide range of practical hands-on workshop classes too.
