Yes, I expect AI to be able to find similarities (or connections) between the highlights, notes, and other stuff I have in #Obsidian.
But it is me who decide what value these similarities have, if any.
Wrote a couple of paragraphs on note-taking, note-thinking, AI, and peripheral vision.

Some thoughts on note-taking, note-thinking, and how I see AI and other tools can help in the process: Not for /making/ connections between notes, thoughts, or ideas, but to suggest /possible/ connections between them.

With the document level notes in #ReadwiseReader, I might have found a good foundation for #linkblogging!

Really interesting blog post about "ghost knowledge" (aka tacit knowledge[1]) and the leaky knowledge pipeline of _all_ communities:

I too feel this is the #1 problem (by a wide margin) with all the knowledge surrounding #ThingUmbrella: >90% is in my head and the rest diffused in various comment sections of the source code & example projects (~47,000 lines of just comments!). I'm really desperate finding a better & sustainable way to balance documenting, sharing, percolating and employing all that knowledge more, but also very much aware I cannot do that all myself (whilst also being main/sole developer)... So a little bit of #Catch22 going on and that being so for years already, but also know the same open problem (amplified by 1000x) from my previous workplace(s)...

In the #pkm and #toolsforthought community, there is one of the repeating topics that I find tiresome: "Don't spent time tinkering with your apps and systems. That's procrastination."
In what other fields are getting to know the tools at hand – or getting inspiration on how to use them from others – considered "procrastination"?
My time in #Tana is now much less tinkering and system-building, far more productive time. And what a great tool for note-taking, thinking, and outlining this is turning into!
Hadn't noticed this tagline before until I saw a bunch of these note books in a shop in Aachen: 'thinking by hand', denken mit der Hand. Leuchtturm note books are fully embracing 'tools for thought' as their identity.
Added #chatGPT to my #Obsidian with these steps: https://medium.com/@ricraftis/how-to-integrate-chatgpt-into-obsidian-b474a01439e8 Must say doing the iterative exchange in browser and then save with markdownload to #Obsidianmd is more effective. #toolsforthought

May I suggest a weekend project? Get a Readwise Reader and discover a better way to manage stuff you want to read.
My review: https://myttl.blog/why-you-need-readwise-reader-as-your-digital-read-it-later-service/
Since I published my thoughts on #ReadwiseReader on Saturday, the team has release a new version that allows for annotating YouTube video transcripts.
And the public beta is set to launch shortly.
If you read a lot, I can’t recommend this tool enough.

Just published: You need Readwise Reader as your digital read-it-later service.

Three thoughts on #Tana. About freeform structure, complexity, and data portability.

@hrheingold I particularly liked the "Throwing Madonna" section. Ballistic considerations are still under-researched in #ToolsForThought.

Have you noticed how a lot of the posts and conversations that get tagged #PKM #ToolsForThought #NoteMakng are about the technology and how to use it (guilty!), as opposed to the broader disciplines involved in using such tools to augment one’s thinking? Notable exceptions of course, such as @harold. For myself I know I do that because it is easier to write about the tech - what do others think?
