Morning #brainBug for some public discussion about #ToolsForThoughtDesign - if you dig into the history of outliners, you find a bunch of older tools that used XMPP (then later JSON) to store the tree data structure, and where nodes could hold further metadata fields.

Might it be worth revisiting those ideas to address part of the space where knowledge work uses databases and structured information and linking between these files and .md/.org/.norg ?
