If you post in different languages on mastodon, how should you do it?

Is it enough to change the posting language when composing the post, or should you also add a hashtag with the language?
And if so, in which language should the hashtag be?
Or maybe the top level domain letters?

Or both change the posting language and add a hashtag?

I really would love it if tags weren't shown as a part of toots. Instead just showing the actual "toot" and then adding tags to a separate "section" in the toot where tags could be listed.

This would, I believe, yield a more clean tooting experience yet not missing any of the essential properties that tags bring to the discovery of messages.

I joined #Mastodon last year. I never used, nor ever will use, any of the toxic-swamp commercial centralised so-called social media platforms. Lots of the guides & how-to's i read for getting used to #Masto, repeatedly drew comparisons to functions in some of those toxic platforms, which thus was less then useful for my learning. One thing i did know though was what a "tweet" meant, & that Masto called their equivalent a "toot". This just sounded silly to me, so til v recently i obstinately just kept using the word "post", being what i'm very familiar with from years of fora activity. To my surprise though, i realised this week that, inexplicably, #tooting here rather than posting here has actually grown on me, to the extent that this is now how i think of it. Weird!

Later, i might #toot about **other** also Really Extremely Important brainfarts that will also be of no relevance nor interest to anyone else.
