I'm Red Sword the Horror, what's yours?
Whenever I hear the lines "won't you come see about me? / I'll be alone, dancing you know it, baby" in Simple Minds mega-hit, Don't You Forget About me, I imagine Jim Kerr's been constantly dancing since 1985 just in case I make an unexpected visit.
Very much enjoyed my commuting soundtrack today

A good explanation of why you should use #camelCase or #PascalCase in your hashtags in this article. In brief ...
1) Accessibility, capitalizing words within your continuous hashtag makes it readable by screen readers and visually readable by peeps with a range of visual impairments, so they're not excluded from the fun. Fun belongs to everyone.
2) (My personal opinion, not from the article) New developments of language are great, Shakespeare agrees from beyond the grave, and should be encouraged, but they can always be improved as expression. The Anglo Saxons wrote Beowulf with a couple full stops and semicolons, and it's good, but now we can use punctuation like musical notation for our rhythm, quality of writing, and to increase our range of expression. #camelCase is just such an improvement to an interesting recent form of communication.
Someone only just pointed this out to me the other day here on the masty. Can't believe no one pulled me up for a word all the years I've been using social media - maybe a testament to how scared of each other we are on other sites. Who wants a fear party rife with exclusion? Not me.
CW - article contains lewd joke by way of example.

@aussocialadmin hi everyone. I'm Alan Fyfe, a writer of fiction and poetry in Boorloo (Perth), the unceded land of the Noongar Nation. I have a new novel out, called T (yeh just one letter), with Transit Lounge. I am Jewish, leftish (prolly somewhere round anarchist), and I think baking is a religious experience. I am doing my #litstudies PhD right now, teaching poetry, and writing more books. Living in a happy mixed family with my partner, Jas, her daughter and my son (Anna and Yitzhak), and two cats. Absolutely love the vibe on Mastadon and I believe I'm here for the long haul. Trying to get the phrase "tootin on the masty" going. Hash it up as #tootinonthemasty if you want in on the fun. Yeh I know it sounds a little, ummm ... Anyway, that's the point. Amazing that social media can feel like community and discovery again. Whoda thunk it?

Jordan Guiao has written "Disconnect - Why We Get Pushed to Extremes Online and How to Stop It" https://g.co/kgs/S4frzU concentrated on the people and constructs 'archetypes' of extremists online. #livetooting #Tootinonthemasty - now talking about the 'Freedom Fighter' types who were part of the 'Convoy to Canberra' in early 2021. Jordan treats the subjects of his research with empathy and talks about their trauma. Talking about the people leading and exploiting the trauma.

Righto, cat introductions seem to be etiquette when tootin on the masty. This is Marie de France. She wandered in out of the bush when I was in South Yunderup and decided she lived with me. The first night she came in, I was reading my son medieval fairy tales (lais) by Marie de France, so we named her for the writer. She only likes 4 people and no other animals and she has a violent temper. We love her.
