Love, loss and soul RnB, sung with piano backing. A lot of these songs are beautifully crafted an produced pop music. Pop music that lasts, rather than throw away tunes that are last year's news. The songs drift between heartbreak, unabashed feminism anthems and plain old love songs.

The album won a bunch of Grammys.

Wilco, the Streets and TV On the Radio get in there from my listening to the #Top100of2000s as per the Rolling Stone. Nightmares on Wax turns out to be great background working music. And boygenius is just great stuff if like me you just wanted more Phoebe Bridgers in your life.

96 - "Original Pirate Material" - The Streets
Rolling Stones Best Albums of the 2000s.

Mike Skinner mashed story telling, British banter-rap and a variety of beats and samples you just about recognize to make this album.

It's a love of clubs, pubs and being a 'geezer' in the early 2000s - it's barely hits self-reflection unlike later material. It's breaks conventions, skips beats and for some tracks it's less rap and more spoken word.

97 - "Sky Blue Sky" - Wilco
Rolling Stones Best Albums of the 2000s.

Wilco have a big following, who must like their alt-music with an guitar twang and bluesy feel - without feeling too country or too folksy.

Sky Blue Sky ploughs this dad-rock, mellow furrow through out the album. It's all nice melodies and well played songs that only occasionally strikes a real clear note on the heart.
