Y'know, even your #TopBolt can get overwhelmed. Training, press, shows, autograph signings... I've put so much into being the best Wonderbolt possible, I sometimes forget to take time just for me. I've thrown myself in one thing I love to do, I feel like I miss out on other things I could.

Having qualified for the #Canterlot500, the real game began now.

Wonderbolt H.Q. always got tense whenever it, or #TopBolt, were brewing. Anxietes were high. Stress was palpable. Tempers flew.

Today's minor issue being blown out of proportion was regarding gym equipment and not putting the weights back.

Misty Fly and High Winds were at it already. Poor Soarin had been roped in as the referee of said dog-cat-fight.

*busting her wings at the #Canterlot500 qualifiers. She's already won #TopBolt this year, and is ready to try and earn a second crown. It's a tough crop of 'Bolts this year, and everyone's been bringing it, so she's going to really outpace herself if she wants that big W!*

C'mon, Fleety Bee! A mere tenth of a second isn't going to cut it... go for the full second!

Equestria was host to many publications which would shred a celebrity, major or minor, were they to even theorize personal travesty. The speculation made for compelling print. Slanderous print made for good sales.

Oh for @mlp_Celestia's sake, first it's my hobbies, now it's my love life? Uh, hello? Haven't I said it before? I love the sky! I love flying! That's why I do this! Just because you have answers for some 'Bolts doesn't mean you get answers for others. ¬.¬

*has returned from a tour from #TopBolt, and is immediately greeted by... her favorite... not really... a press conference.*

Hey folks, glad we could finally get this in! *and out of the way...*

Alright, my statement. Yeah, it's cool to be the Top Bolt once more, but honestly, the whole competition is the best learning experience any flier could hope for. You get up close and personal with the best fliers in the world, and I'm proud to fly with all of them!

I’ll have to take past you to next years event when she gets back. Every year the Wonderbolts get together to race and compete for the #1 spot! My bets are always on Captain Spitfire!”

Flying with the Wonderbolts, he was /helping/. Despite coming 2nd in #TopBolt this year, he'd certainly used the short time off from training he had for rest and relaxation. The intense training regime @Capt_Spitfire put in place brought him back to speed but, he was aware that he'd need to push harder if he wanted a fighting chance to maintain, or exceed, 2nd place next time.

Decorating the sky with lights was always fun, too. The crowds went wild. How he loved performing.

The Blifteenth of Fakemonth was quickly rolling around, and Soarin knew he was likely fighting a losing battle. After #TopBolt, there had been celebrations, meals out, pie day... A lot of food, and very little movement.

To top it all off, today was Thunderlane's turn in the kitchen! He took a little offense if his food was refused, so there was no way Soarin could refuse the passionfruit and blueberry cheesecake on the menu today! It was a dilemma to be sure.

GASP!

With all of the whispers of ponies gaining 8 lbs, he decided to hop on the scales as well. He was shocked. Who'd have thought that being totally inactive and stuffing yourself with pies since coming 2nd in #TopBolt would lead to weight gain!? No wonder his flight suits weren't fitting right!

Soarin, ever a fan of malicious overcompliance, fully intended on making a fully renditioned song the next time he was in the bath and would make it his mission to sing it around H.Q. whenever @mlp_Fleetfoot went past. Consider it her victory fanfare, if you will. ;)

Following cessation of #TopBolt, Wonderbolt H.Q's activities were in slump mode. Just because the team weren't out flying today though, that didn't mean that there was no work to do.

Where his Boss was planning out new routines, he was working next door just as hard updating the teaching curriculum for Reservists. With no Academy running this term, it meant that a little extra attention could be given to those already on the team...

*Rainbow has had several very busy days. Between Weather Management, #TopBolt finishing up, and helping @Applejack take care of some things around the farm, it's been one thing after another after another.*

*She's passed out, maybe in Applejack's bed, maybe in her own. Someday, she's gonna drag AJ up to her cloud house for a snooze. so she can feel the difference.*

With all of the moving in boxes that @Capt_Spitfire had left for disposal, the ever-sensible Commander had decided to make good use of them before their eternal Cadet took them for recycling.

He and Thunderlane, giggling like school boys, had set up two box fortresses in the Mess Hall. From each side of the room, they shot puffs of cloud at each other from wee makeshift sling shots.

What? #TopBolt was over and it was time to have a little fun!

*Rainbow offers @mlp_Sunchaser her ribbon back.* "Hey, nice job with hiding! Using the cloud banks was a good strategy! But you can't hide from an opponent forever!"

"At some point, you have to face them head-on. Challenge them! Make them see your face and cower in fear!" *Rainbow gives Sun Chaser a nod and a pat on the shoulder.* "Still. Good job, though!"
