This is a shape I make a lot, with infinite design differences in each one. Making a half transparent/half solid bead gives me a base to create a micro-world inside. These get put into simple necklaces, though I am always trying to sort out more elevated settings for them. I love making little sea creature bits of glass to place inside, like in this one. Glass is amazing!

Here's me working in glass. This method is called lampworking, or torch work. A good way to think about it is small-scale glass blowing, often without the blowing part of it. I do blow glass on a small scale, but In this photo I'm just winding molten glass onto a mandrel. The torch is over 2,000 F. Hot stuff!

I posted this on my original server and I know those posts don't go with me so I'm posting it for myself one more time, cause it makes me smile. I just adore glass.
