And the last to birds on the list, one of the pair of #PiedCurrawong that live in my backyard and pop in for sultanas every now and then, and a #TorresianCrow up in a tree over the creek.

A couple of birds I spotted when leaving work for the day.
The infamous Binchicken (aka Australian White Ibis) and a juvenile Torresian Crow, trying to work out which is its best side.

The ivermectin worked. 👏🏼😀These two are in good health again. A few weeks ago they picked up mites from some infected kookaburras who visited their regular perch in the tree and were badly affected: scratching, losing most of their feathers, distressed. The local vet suggested some drops of ivermectin which I had to administer on food as they won’t let me close enough to put it on their feathers. The treatment worked. 🤩👏🏼Happy to see them healthy and glossy again. This is what ivermectin is actually for! #urbanwildlife #birds #corvids #torresiancrow

This guy is feeling the heat today. Birds - like dogs - pant to cool themselves. He loves a chilled grape or two but his mate prefers meat, egg or cheese. I say “he” but am not sure if this is the female or male since both are now able to leave the nest. I read that the dominant male crow in a group develops a blue tongue - which helps you identify the sex - but I can’t see the tongue even when its mouth is open like this. #Corvids #TorresianCrow #Summer #Australia
